Hi All!
Update 2/24/10
Submitted by Ben on Wed, 02/24/2010 - 8:58pmSubmitted by Kris and Ron 2/24/10
Ron was able to come home from the hospital on Sunday. Three days of heavy IV prednisone doses and IV antibiotics. The Stanford doctors are pleased with his progress. So far, he seems to be progressing OK from his setback. He will have to have another bronchoscopy in a couple weeks. If the scar tissue continues to grow, he will likely have to have stents put in to hold the bronchial tubes open. At this time, we get to stay in town. Ron will need more labwork tomorrow and lung function tests soon. We're hopeful his tests will show improvement. We will update this page as we get more information. We are thankful for everyday and are so thankful for all of you! Be well.

Hi All!
We're all settled back home. Ron continues to do well. We have a bronchoscopy scheduled next week and that will tell if Ron needs further medications. Hopefully, all will look good. Don't forget about the spaghetti dinner this Saturday, 2/13. See the activities and events page for more information. I will post more after the dinner. Thank you all for your support!

Hi Everyone!!
We're home! We were able to leave Stanford a few weeks ahead of schedule. We are so happy to be back. We have missed everyone so much. Our son is thrilled we are home. He made us brownies to welcome us. He's so thoughtful.
Ron saw his regular doctor today and the doctor is very pleased by his progress. She couldn't believe how good he looked. Ron will have a bronchoscopy on 2/18. Hopefully, everything will continue to look good. I will go back to work after a three month absence on Monday. I'm not looking forward to my e-mail inbox, but am excited to see my co-workers.

Update 1/11/10

Hi All!! Ron had his check up this morning and everything looks great. His lung functions are at 100% and his doctors are very pleased with his progress. As long as things continue to go well, we will get to come home the first week of February!! Of course, that's still a few weeks away so we are concentrating on Ron's recovery. Some days we feel we are stuck on another planet with no way home, but we continue to hold to our faith that everything will turn out as it was meant to be. Our son, Alex, will be down to visit us this weekend. We can hardly wait to see him. We miss him and the rest of our family so much! Thank you to everyone for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We are so blessed to have your support.
Love,
Kris and Ron

Hi All - The doctors are pleased with Ron's progress and his test results were good. There are no medication adjustments this week. Ron was able to walk 30 minutes on the treadmill and ride 15 minutes on a bike yesterday. He goes back to pulmonary therapy tomorrow. Pastor Crown visited from Trinity Lutheran Church today and we had a mini church service. Ron and I were glad to have the company and are thankful to the pastor and the vicar for visiting. Our sister, Cindy called to talk about plans for fundraising. Thank you to all who have contributed. We are so thankful for your generosity. We would not be able to do this without all of you!! That's all the news, for now. I will post more in a few days. Take care.
Love,
Kris and Ron

Hi All! We want to wish everyone a safe, happy, and healthy New Year from Palo Alto, CA. Ron continues to heal and gain strength. We were at pulmonary therapy yesterday and Ron is doing more and more activity. Our son called us at midnight to wish us a happy New Year. We miss him and the rest of our family and friends so much! Thank you to everyone for your prayers and continued support. We see the doctors again Monday and will post an update after that visit.
Love,
Kris and Ron
